Like many new Nissan models the Kicks has plenty of angles in all the right places that give it an edgy vibe. We also love the angled roof and aggressive rear bumper. Depending on which of the three trims you choose — S, SV, or SR — there are two different wheel styles that add extra flair for when the car isn't in motion.

While the outside is bold, the interior leans towards the minimalist side of the spectrum, but we love how the dash and standard touchscreen get all the attention. The S and SV have cloth seats and the SR has a premium sport cloth with orange accent stitching. If you want a more refined look we suggest getting the optional Primta-Tex™ faux-leather seats with the SR.

All Kicks trims come with a FWD Xtronic CVT® transmission. The 1.6L engine with 125 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque is what powers the Kicks along New Franklin streets or the highway. Admittedly, the engine isn't the most powerful around, but for most driver it provides all the performance you really need. And remember, the model's target market is young professionals who may not have the budget for turbocharged engines...and least not yet.

    Cargo Specs

More drivers are learning towards subcompact crossovers because they don't want hulking SUVS, but their sedans no longer have the cargo space for their lifestyle needs. The Kicks has 25.3 cubic feet of cargo space with all seats up, and that's more than the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR, and Hyundai Kona! With that spacious "trunk" you'll have room for luggage if you want to go on a weekend trip, space for you and your roommate's weekly groceries, and any other impromptu needs that might arise.

Now that we've gotten the nitty-gritty details out of the way, let's get down to the exciting technology features that make commuting from your Kent home exciting. All Kicks come with a 7-inch touchscreen, Siri Eyes Free®, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker audio system. Choose the SV or SR and you'll get Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integrations, a smart key with push button entry, and an Advanced Drive-Assist® display that located in the instrument cluster.

    Safety Features

The Kicks may be an entry-level crossover, but Nissan made sure a few advanced safety features that help with crash avoidance were available. All trims, even the base S, have automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning! There's also a useful backup camera that can help you avoid those pesky fender benders in the grocery store parking lot. Want more? The SV and SR have blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert, and the top SR trim has standard LED headlights for better visibility.

Even though this is the first year for the Nissan Kicks, it's clear this subcompact crossover is okay loudly announcing its entry into the segment, rather than quietly sliding in. Stop into our dealership this week for a test drive, and don't forget to ask our sales team if there are any available add-ons for the trim you're interested in!
